Founded over 725 years ago, Radstadt offers easy access to the main sights and cities around Austria. With easy access by road or rail, Haus Susanne is perfectly situated for exploring both local and national places of interest.

One of the most cultural cities in Europe. Concert halls, museums, galleries and history make a visit well worthwhile.
Being the birthplace of Mozart, Salzburg has kept it's Classical charm with many musical festivals in his name.
Austria's most popular beer 'Stiegl' is brewed in Salzburg. The brewery hosts daily tours which end with
time to sample some of the unique and craft local beers. Looking over the city is the fortress. Not only is there an excellent museum about the city with amazing views but also regular marionette performances and small concerts. Access to the fortress is via a furnicular railway or a few hundred steps!
HISTORIC SALT MINES
As the its name suggests, Salzburg has a long history of mining the 'white gold'.
Dating back to the Celts of Hallein, visiting the Saltwelt Mines are a
great opportunity to explore the world of Salzburg's treasure.

There are 2 mines within an hours drive from Haus Susanne. The closest is in Hallein near Salzburg and the other is in the picturesque village of Halstatt.
There are also mines near Berchtesgarten in Germany (near The Eagles Nest) and in Altausee, upper Austria. All mines are quite unique and well worth a visit.

mountains and valleys of the Salzkammergut leads you to one
of Austria's most beautiful lakes. Halstatt town sits on the shores of Lake Halstatt with a panorama of the towering Dachstein Massiv mountain range, overlooked by the saltmine
(see above); the original heart of the town.

Famed as one of the most beatuiful cities in the world, Halstatt is becoming ever more popular with tourists, which is why we recommend taking a leisurely cruise accross the lake on the ferry and stopping off in Obertraun. This little village has an area for swimming and bathing and an amazing view back accross the water to Halstatt.
